Roller pumps lose pressure gradually as the rollers wear, chip or swell. The good news is a roller kit is cheap and goes in with the pump on the machine. Here’s how to tell when it’s time, and which kit you need.
1. Check the rollers
Pull the endplate (cover) and look. Rollers that are worn flat, chipped, swollen tight in their slots, or noticeably shorter than new are done. Replace the whole set at once.
2. Then the rotor and endplate
Look at the rotor slots and the inside face of the endplate. Deep scoring or wear there lets liquid slip past even with new rollers, so those parts need replacing too.
3. Other causes
- A plugged suction strainer or a collapsing suction hose.
- Air getting in at a suction fitting or a worn shaft seal.
- Drips where the shaft comes out are the shaft seals (two per pump; they’re in the roller kits). Drips around the cover are the endplate o-ring.
- Rough or noisy with the drive off: bearings.
4. The kit for your pump

Hypro -T3 pumps come from the factory with polypropylene rollers; use the poly kit to keep it the same, or switch to Super Rollers. The kits include the rollers, the endplate o-ring and (in most) the two shaft seals.
Look your pump up in the Pump Finder and pick “Low pressure or flow” to see the kit, rollers, rotor and endplate for that model: 7560C, 1502C-T3, RP-800C.
