Hypro pump model numbers explained: C, P, S, HM1C and the roller pump letters

Hypro numbers are shorter than Ace’s, but the letters matter just as much: the same 9303 pump comes in cast iron, poly and stainless, and the seal kit and impeller change with it. Type the model into the Pump Finder to see that exact pump’s parts, or read it like this.

Centrifugal pumps (9200 and 9300 series)

The four digits are the pump. 9202 and 9203 are pedestal-mount pumps (belt or shaft drive); 9303, 9306 and 9307 are the hydraulic-drive pumps. The letter right after the number is the body:

After the dash comes the drive. HM1C, HM4C, HM5C are Hypro’s gerotor hydraulic motors (different flow ranges, different gerotors and motor parts). GM10 / GM12 are the hydraulic motor drives on the larger 9307 pumps. Trailing letters: -U = universal flange ports, -R = reverse rotation, -3U = 3" universal flange.

Hypro centrifugal seal kits

Kit What it’s for
3430-0332 Standard Viton mechanical seal kit for the cast iron 9203/9303/9306 pumps (seal, o-ring, gasket)
3430-0589 Silicon carbide seal kit, same pumps; the better choice for abrasive mixes
3430-0748 Hydraulic motor parts kit (motor bearing, motor shaft seal, o-rings). This is for the motor, not a spray-mix leak.

If the drip is spray mix, it’s the pump’s mechanical seal (3430-0332 or 3430-0589). If it’s oil, it’s the motor side (3430-0748). More on telling them apart in pump leaking at the shaft.

Roller pumps (1502, 4001, 4101, 6500, 7560)

The number is the pump size (4001 and 4101 are 4-roller, 1502 and 6500 are 6-roller, 7560 is 8-roller). The letter after it is the body:

  • C — cast iron
  • N — Ni-Resist (a corrosion-resistant cast iron)
  • XL — Silvercast (stainless)

-T3 models ship with polypropylene rollers instead of Super Rollers, so use the kit that matches what’s in your pump. Roller kits by pump are in roller pump losing pressure.

SHURflo

SHURflo diaphragm pumps (2088, 5059, 8000 series) and the SF-1100 transfer pumps are plastic-bodied electric pumps. The pump’s title on our site spells out the voltage, flow, demand switch setting and valve material.

Not sure which you have? In the Pump Finder, pick Hypro / SHURflo, then the pump type and body material, and it narrows the list for you.

Spray Center Electronics stocks pump parts and repair kits for Ace, Banjo, Hypro/SHURflo and Annovi Reverberi (AR) pumps in Spokane, WA. Part numbers here come from the manufacturers’ parts sheets; when your pump has been modified or the tag is gone, send a photo to sales@spraycenter.com or call (509) 838-2209 and we’ll match it before you order.
