Raven Valve Parts Breakdown

Raven's boom (section) valves and control valves, taken apart: motor assembly, cover, body, the M200 flange hardware that holds them in the manifold, the flow meter and the wiring. Tap a callout, pick your version, see live price and stock, and add a repair kit to the cart.

1

Which valve are you working on?

Boom valves turn sections on and off; the control valve meters total flow for the rate controller. Both bolt into the same 2" M200 manifold flange system.

Swapping a valve motor or re-flanging a section

  1. Console off, pressure bled, tank valve closed. Unplug the valve's 2-pin (Weather Pack) or 3-pin (Deutsch) connector and check the pins for green — a corroded plug is the fault more often than the motor.
  2. Bench-test before buying: 12 V across the two motor pins should drive the valve one way; swap polarity and it should come back. Nothing, or a hum with no movement, is the motor assembly. Motor runs but flow doesn't change is the body or drive coupling.
  3. Remove the motor assembly: four screws through the cover into the body. Lift it straight up and note the position of the drive slot on the ball stem — open or closed.
  4. Fit the new motor with its drive in the same position as the stem, seat it square, snug the four screws evenly. Don't fill the cover with grease; a dab of dielectric grease in the plug is all it needs.
  5. Re-flanging: the gasket sits in the groove of the flanged part, dry. Set the clamp over both flanges, start the T-bolt by hand, tighten until the clamp halves touch — no sealant, no overtightening.
  6. Power up and cycle every section from the console. A manifold valve should travel fully in about a second. Check for drips at each clamp under pressure.
  7. Control valve: after replacing a control valve or motor, re-run the valve calibration on the console (Valve Cal / Valve Advance) so it doesn't hunt. Steps are in the Raven lookup.

Raven boom valve and control valve parts

A Raven liquid manifold is a row of 2" M200-flanged parts clamped together: an inlet, a flow meter, a control valve that throttles total flow, and one boom (section) valve per section, each with a motor assembly on top that drives a ball. The motor assemblies are the wear item — they're sold separately and swap in with four screws — and the flange gaskets and clamps are the other thing that gets replaced every season.

Common questions

Section won't turn on or off, others work

Swap the plug with a neighboring valve. If the fault follows the valve, it's the motor assembly; if it stays with the plug, it's the cable or the node output. The motor is a four-screw swap — no need to replace the whole valve.

Rate hunts up and down

Usually valve calibration (Valve Cal / Valve Advance / Valve Delay) rather than hardware, especially after a motor or console change. If the control valve motor is slow or sticks part way, replace the motor assembly. Search "erratic rate" in the Raven lookup for the console settings.

Leaking at a flange

New gasket (FG220 for 2" full port, FG200 for 1-1/2") and make sure the clamp is an HD clamp fully closed. A flange with a cracked lip won't seal with any gasket — replace the fitting.

Is the Raven valve plug a Weather Pack?

Yes — the "Packard connector" in Raven's description is a 2-pin Weather Pack tower. Newer valves use a 3-pin Deutsch DT. The connector identifier has the terminals and seals.
